The Importance of Empowering and Uplifting Other Women

Hey Y’all!  Happy Monday!

Welcome to Southern Love Lifestyle blog, in this post I( Jennifer) wanted to write why we as women need to empower and uplift one another more. I’ve always felt that it’s important to empower  other women. We’re not in competition with each other  we’re all striving to be the best version of ourselves.

My Life

Lately, I’ve been seeing so much on social media and the news about women. How women need to be more confident, feel more comfortable in their own skin, and above all else love themselves. I often think about my life and my own interactions with women on a daily basis. Nearly, every interaction I have with a woman is  a negative one. I’m usually being torn down for one reason or another. For example, the clothes I choose to wear, my hair, my make-up, and even my shoes…lol!

However, through it all I smile and even laugh out loud when another woman tries to “bring me down.” I have been dealing with these petty situations since I was in middle school. In fact I find it quite comical, because I have a very strong foundation.  It’s not built on quicksand, my parents especially my very strong mother instilled in me at a very young age to be confident and love me for me.

My mom always told me, “Jennifer, you will have to be better than your best, and sometimes that won’t be good enough for some people, but that’s ok.” She always taught me no matter what,  you love yourself and never let people define or change you.  I’m so incredibly thankful, my mom taught me that lesson. I’m not a people pleaser, you either like me or you don’t, either way life is good. You should always be yourself, before we can empower and uplift another woman. We need to make sure that we are owning who we are as a person.

Own Who You Are and Love It

I just wanted to share the joy that I feel within myself, because I own who I Am. I Am an educated and confident young woman. I Am my hair, my skin, my lashes, and my six inch heels. I try to eat right and not eat the biggest piece of  chocolate cake that my  mom makes just because she feels like some chocolate..lol!  I workout four to five days a week, because it’s what I love to do.  I put the work into my body and I have the drive and motivation to be whatever I chose to be in life.

Empower, Encourage, and Uplift Other Women

I just want to empower, encourage, and uplift other women, if someone is trying to tear you down. It’s not about you, it’s the flaws in them,  that you make them aware of. Words are often used as weapons to hurt,  don’t allow them to affect you.  Always remember that if someone is trying to tear you down, it shows they have no growth and they are unhappy within themselves.

If you choose not to wear make-up, that’s fine; if you love the skin you’re in that’s lovely. If you love your natural hair, then God bless you. That may work for you, but that may not be what the next woman wants or needs. If you don’t understand someone that’s fine, but it’s not for you to understand why they do what they do.

Your standard of beauty may not match the next woman’s and that’s ok. However, you don’t get the right to rip her apart because she has a different perspective of beauty than you. Thank God, that we’re all different I know I love me some me.  Don’t be afraid to compliment another woman that’s not a part of your clique. That ladies is called confidence and it shows growth in you as a female.

May You Forever Sparkle and Shine

Empowering or encouraging another woman doesn’t take any shine away from you. We can all sparkle together and respect each other’s differences. Always remember that Little Girls compete and judge one another, Strong Women Uplift and Empower.

I hope y’all enjoyed the post! Have an amazing day
