Happy Friday Kittens!
OMG! I cannot believe that it’s officially 2020. I am beyond excited to share new and fabulous outfits with y’all in the New Year. As with any new year, one can expect that fashion trends are going to change and bring forth new fashion into the spotlight. I love reading about new and upcoming fashion trends. However, I also love creating looks with tried and true fashion trends.
In this post, I’m sharing one of my favorite go to winter outfit ideas. Not only is this look so cute, it’s extremely cozy. Since it’s definitely gotten colder, it’s important to not only look fashionable and put together, but also warm. So let’s get started with this fun, comfy, and edgy look for the winter.

Winter Outfit Ideas; Oversized Chunky Knit Sweater
One of my favorite pieces for the winter is an oversized chunky knit sweater with a turtleneck. I mean everyone should have at least five different oversized sweaters. They’re seriously the perfect fashion staple for winter. If you’re in a hurry you can throw one on with jeans, leggings, or in my case a miniskirt. They’re a must have especially if you live in a place like South Carolina.
Sometimes, it’s freezing and then sometimes you just need a light jacket. However, if you don’t have a light jacket than your chunky sweater is just what you need. The one detail that I adore about this sweater is the bell sleeves. I feel like it just adds a hint of chicness.
Since I’m pretty petite, I decided to partially tuck my sweater into the front of my miniskirt, because it elongates my torso. Tucking your sweater also accentuates your silhouette and gives you a more defined shape. It’s easy to get lost in an oversized sweater so it’s important to know how to wear it based on your body type.
Hot Trend Alert: Leather
I’ve chosen to pair my gray oversized chunky knit turtleneck sweater ( I bet you can’t say that three times fast…lol!) with one of 2020’s hottest trends…LEATHER or in my cause faux leather. My mini skirt features a double buckle and two zippers on either side. The double buckle look emerged in Spring of 2016 and shows no signs of going anywhere anytime soon.
The fact that leather is going to be hot this year, should not be a surprise to anyone because leather is timeless. I mean leather is something you wear when you want to feel and look a little edgy. Which is exactly what I was going for with this cozy and chic outfit with an edge.
You’re probably going to be seeing a great deal of leather this year. It’s going to range from tops, skirts, shorts, dresses, jackets, pants, and anything else in between. I think what may set the leather trend aside this year, is that leather is going to be available in different colors. So if you don’t have anything leather or faux leather, indulge a little and just buy it. Leather never goes out of style and it looks amazing on everyone.
Accessories
I’ve accessorized my outfit with a black floppy wool felt hat, from Free People. I love hats so of course in my first fashion blog of the new year, I’m wearing a hat. I’m carrying a lady-like handbag from Steve Madden. A lady-like handbag is seriously one of the best bags ever created. It’s such a classic and versatile bag, because it adds the finishing touch to any look. Lastly, in order to finish off my look, I’ve paired my patent leather lace up ankle boots with a chunky heel from Jeffrey Campbell.
So that completes my go to winter fashion outfit; a chunky oversized knit turtleneck sweater with a leather miniskirt.
I hope y’all enjoyed this post. Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments section! What are some of your go to winter fashion ideas?
Always remember to be Fierce, Fabulous, and Fearless! *Muah*
