Happy Tuesday Y’all!
Spaghetti, is one of my family’s favorite meals, it’s such an easy go to dish. I love spaghetti, and over the years I have changed how I’ve prepared it. I can honestly say that this is the best spaghetti and meatball recipe with homemade meat sauce.
In this post, I’m going to be sharing my very own homemade spaghetti sauce recipe which is not only easy, but extremely delicious. Since cinnamon rolls are one of my favorite treats, I’m also making them to go with my spaghetti and meatballs. You can find my homemade cinnamon roll recipe here. We have a great deal of cooking to do, so let’s get started!
As always we need a list of ingredients.
Ingredients
Spaghetti Sauce Ingredients
-2 150z cans of Tomato Sauce
-1 60z can of Tomato Paste
-2 tablespoons of Oregano
– 1/2 teaspoon of Garlic Powder
– 2 tablespoons of Italian Seasoning
-1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground Black Pepper
– Sugar (to taste)
Spaghetti and Meatballs Ingredients
– Ground Beef
– Pack of Barilla, thin spaghetti
-Green Bell Pepper
-Adobo seasoning
How to Make Homemade Spaghetti Sauce
First, we need to combine our 1 can of tomato paste and 2 cans of tomato sauce into a bowl.
Next, you will stir your paste and sauce together until there are no lumps.
Then, you will begin to mix in the other ingredients; add in 2 tablespoons of oregano, 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 tablespoon of garlic salt, 1/2 tsp of freshly ground pepper, and sugar for taste. The amount of sugar, depends on the tanginess of your sauce. If you prefer a tangier sauce, use less sugar.
Continue to stir until all ingredients are blended together within the sauce. Once you’ve finished set your sauce aside and begin to chop your bell pepper.
Chopping Your Green Bell Pepper
Personally, I’ve always loved the taste of a green bell pepper in my spaghetti sauce. I think it gives it an extra pop of flavor. I always wash my vegetables and then I begin to chop and dice my bell pepper.
Preparing Your Ground Beef
After I finish dicing my bell pepper, I cook my ground beef in a large pan on high heat. I want to make sure the meat is thoroughly cooked.
Once your meat begins to brown, you will add in your diced green bell pepper.
I add in a few extra spices such as Adobo seasoning, salt, and pepper to season my meat.
Adding Your Spaghetti Sauce
After your meat has completely cooked, add the spaghetti sauce that you made earlier. Allow your sauce to simmer on low heat, until you’re ready for your meatballs.
How to Make Homemade Meatballs
You can find my homemade meatball recipe here, I just added in a few green peppers which is optional.
After your meatballs have beautifully browned, add them to your meat sauce.
Now, you’re going to cover them in your homemade sauce. Continue to allow your meat sauce and meatballs to simmer on low, until ready to serve.
Preparing the Spaghetti Noodles
I add a little olive oil and salt to my water. When your water begins to boil add your noodles.
I use Barilla Thin Spaghetti, and I never ever break my noodles.
You will cook your spaghetti noodles until they’re el dente (tender).
Then, you’re going to drain your spaghetti noodles, never wash them.
Now they’re ready to serve.
Spaghetti and Meatballs with Homemade Sauce
I think it’s safe to say this spaghetti and meatballs recipe with homemade sauce and cinnamon rolls is husband approved.
