A Classic Houndstooth Look for Fall 2020

Happy Friday Kittens!

I’m back with another Fashion Friday outfit, I hope that  y’all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Even though I’m sure that it was definitely not the Thanksgiving we’re all used to. However, we’re all in the pandemic together and if we can just hold on and abide by the precautions set forth by doctors and scientists. We can soon be back in the company of our loved ones again.

This has been a tough year for everyone, but it has taught me a great deal. I’m more grateful for everyone and everything in my life. I have decided to incorporate balloons into this post, because life is so precious and there’s a quote that I have always loved. It’s “Why blend in when you born to stand out.” I’ve always believed this because I always felt that you should always put your best foot forward  because  there is no one else in the world like you.

Since it’s officially Fall, I’m wearing one of any all time favorite plaid patterns…Houndstooth! Black and white houndstooth is a classic pattern that dates back to at least 300 B.C.

Houndstooth: One of My Fall/Winter Staples

I cannot tell you how many different houndstooth pieces I have in my wardrobe. It’s seriously one of my Fall/Winter staples. I believe everyone should have at least one houndstooth piece, because it will never ever go out of style. You will never regret  incorporating houndstooth into your closet. I purchased this classic  black and white houndstooth mini skirt with mock pockets from  Forever 21. Which can be found here.

I paired my houndstooth mini-skirt with another one of my fall/winter favorites…the black turtleneck.  Honestly, I’m addicted to them, I buy so many black turtlenecks.  I just think they’re one of the greatest pieces and I  mean they look amazing with any and  everything.  You can  dress up or down, you can wear it with  jeans, a blazer,  pencil skirt, skort,  nice tapered short. Or in my case a houndstooth mini-skirt.

When I put on a tapered black turtleneck, I instantly feel put together and polished. Then, once I add my houndstooth skirt, I feel totally fierce. You can have the perfect outfit, but the accessories are just as important. I’ve been trying to expand my fashion horizons and I love the classic black and white look, but I wanted to add a little something extra.

Accessories

The Beret

The Beret, I mean of course I’m wearing a beret, it’s Parisian and chic. When I see a beret, it just represents an aura of sophistication and class. If you don’t have one  I seriously suggest, you find one. It will take your wardrobe, to another level. I purchased my beret from Free People and it can be found here.

Belt +Boots +Mini Bag

I’ve never really worn chain belts, but when I saw this circular chain belt from Express, which can be found here. I knew I had to purchase it, I legitimate had no idea what I was going to to wear with it. My mom actually suggested that I try the circular belt with my houndstooth skirt and I must say that my mom is a legit genius and it worked out perfectly.

Since I’m wearing a wearing a black and white look. I wanted to add a splash of color. I couldn’t decide between a mustard bag or a red one. I finally made the decision to carry a red mini bag. Red is such a bold color and I knew that it would translate quite well with this outfit. A similar red mini bag can be found here.

Last, but not least my boots. Which have become one of my favorite accessories for this fall fashion season. I’m a lover of boots and every year I found my go to pair. These five five inch faux platform boots are definitely my new obsession.

Well I hope y’all enjoyed my take on a classic houndstooth look, that’s perfect for Fall/Winter 2020. Now go out there and purchase a few new fashion staples for yourself.  After all it is Black Friday! I hope everyone has a lovely day, stay safe, and wear your masks!

Always remember to be Fierce, Fabulous, and Fearless! *Muah*
