Happy Friday Kittens and Welcome to Style Corner!
I have decided to blog about one of my favorite trends of all time….BELL SLEEVES! I can honestly say that I am obsessed with embellished or statement sleeves, and bell sleeves are my favorite. I’m extremely flamboyant and I absolutely love clothing with a little dramatic flare. Click here or here to read more about embellished sleeves on the blog. Bell Sleeves, continue to be one of my favorite trends of all time, keep reading to find out why.
The History of the Bell Sleeve
Bell sleeves originated in Japan around the year 794 and then made their way into the Western world during the Medieval era. So bell sleeves have literally been around for centuries. Of course nothing in fashion is exactly “new,” but designers will take a great look, revolutionize it, and once again it becomes all the rage.
For example bell sleeves, was one of the hottest trends in the 1970’s and over the past few years they have shown they definitely have fashion staying power. The great thing about a bell sleeve is that anyone of any age can wear this trend and look absolutely fabulous. It’s not only fierce and fabulous, but it’s also a fun look as well.
How to Wear Bell Sleeves
First, I must say that I am a lover of wearing all things black, my wardrobe has almost no color. However, I’m trying to do things a little differently this year, and incorporate more color. That’s why in the post I wanted to try a little blue dress instead of a little black dress. Bell sleeves, are a trend that look amazing however you choose to wear them. You can wear a bell sleeve top with a nice fit and flare skirt, jeans, shorts, or in my case wear a dress.
In the post, I am wearing a cobalt blue Sweet Dirt knit mini dress featuring; cutout shoulders, V-neckline, crisscross cami straps, long bell sleeves, and a bodycon silhouette, which can be found here. I literally love everything about this dress. It’s perfect if you’re attending a spring or summer wedding. Or if you need an amazing dress for a girl’s night or date night, this one is definitely it.
I would accessorize with a very small clutch, since the dress is so vibrant in color you don’t want to have too much going on. I chose to pair my dress with six inch heels, from Fashion Nova. They’re currently sold out in every size, but not to worry I found some similar ones. They can be found here and here.
I hope y’all enjoyed this post, and I hope that everyone has a fabulous and safe weekend!
Feel free to let me know what you think in the comments section!

Always remember to be Fierce, Fabulous, and Fearless! *Muah*
