Method
- First, you need to wash and dry your bell peppers.
- Once they're dry, cut the bell peppers in half and then begin to thinly slice them.
- After I finish slicing them, I set them aside on a piece of foil.
- Now, add 2 or 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil for your steak in a pan. You should set your stove to medium heat, and wait for the oil to heat up.
- As you're waiting for your oil, you will need to begin to slice your steak. Since this is a stir-fry the steak will need to be thinly sliced.
- Once your oil is hot, you add in your meat. Stir the meat continously until your meat is brown.
- Then, you will add in;1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of sesame seed oil, 1 Asian stir fry seasoning packet, and black pepper (as needed for taste.) **I don't add any salt to this recipe, because the soy sauce is salty enough.**
- In another sauce pan, I add black pepper and sesame oil to my peppers. I toss my peppers around on a medium heat until fork tender.
- When my peppers are done, I set them aside off the heat.
- Then, I begin to add my meat in with my cooked peppers.
- In a pan, I add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to my sauce, just to thicken it.
- I pour my thickened sauce over my steak and peppers and allow them to simmer for about 5-10 minutes on medium heat.
Notes
This recipe is so quick, easy, and delicious, it's also a low-calorie dish. I like to serve it over white rice, but if you're trying to be more health conscious you can substitute brown rice or quinoa.
