Happy Friday Kittens!
I hope everyone had a wonderful week! My week has been super busy and I honestly cannot be happier that the weekend has finally arrived! Whoever says you can’t wear floral print during the fall and winter season was seriously mistaken.
In my last couple of blog posts, I have really been focusing on prints. For instance my post from a couple weeks ago was about my favorite plaid print houndstooth, which can be found here. Last week was focusing on leopard print, which cn be found here. So this week is all about floral print. Prints have been a mainstay in fashion for decades and I don’t foresee them going away anytime soon.
One of my favorite prints has to be florals. There is just something so feminine and delicate about a floral print. Usually when we think of floral print we tend to think of the warmer spring and summer months. However, I have found that floral print can also work during the cold fall and winter months as well.
When the weather gets colder we tend to reach for muted, darker tones, and I think adding that with touch of a floral print can be extremely fashionable in the fall. I personally tend to look for black dresses, with an allover floral pattern to brighten up my look.
The Look

The Floral Print Dress
In this post, I’m wearing a chiffon black mini dress with an allover floral print pattern. This dress has several things that I love and adore. The peasant sleeves are sheer which is the epitome of femininity to me. It also has a self-tie around the waist, a fit and flare silhouette with a flounced hem.
Now if you have a floral print dress that you want to transition from summer to fall all you need to do is add a pair of tights or a Moto jacket. I was going to incorporate a Moto jacket with my floral ensemble, but since I live in South Carolina you never know if it’s going to be cold enough for a Moto jacket.
One day it could be 70 degrees and the next day it’s 50 degrees…go figure…🤷🏽♀️ I opted out of wearing the jacket because I didn’t need one. However, if you live in a colder climate feel free to rock a Moto Jacket hard! Since you floral print is soft and the Moto jacket is hard and edgy it will add that balance of hard and soft that’s always in style.
Accessories
Hat or No Hat????
I went back and forth whether I wanted to wear a hat with this look or not. However, since it’s Fall I decided that it was a must. A floppy hat is great way to winterize a floral print dress, and it’s even better if you wear a pop of color. Since the flowers on the dress come in array of different colors, such as reds, pinks, and maroon which are all warm tones. I knew a colorful hat would be an amazing and chic option.
I chose a maroon hat from Lulus, instead of typical black. I believe that wearing black is an effortless way to look put together. However, fashion is also about pushing the envelope and having a bit of fun with your look. Which is why accessorizing your look with a pop of color will not only look sensational, you will stand out against the gloomy weather.
The Bag and Boots
I paired my floral dress with a black studded Badgley Mischka chain strap bag. It’s so reminisce of a Chanel bag, without the Chanel price tag. So you can be incredibly and affordably chic. Lastly, my boots are black suede Gianni Bini I’ve had them for awhile. I fully believe in buying good quality pieces, especially boots because they will last for years.
I hope y’all enjoyed this post, now go forth and dress yourselves in all over floral print.
Don’t forget to wear your masks….
