The Perfect Puff Sleeve Dress

Happy Friday Kittens!

I decided to post about one of my all time favorite things to wear when the weather gets a little colder…A Black Sweater Dress! In my last couple of posts, I’ve been really trying to expand my fashion horizon and explore different fashion outfits and options.  However, I wanted to go back to the basics, so I decided to wear a black sweater dress with a twist.

As y’all know I love following trends, not just because I’m a fashion blogger, but because I’m  obsessed with fashion.  One popular trend, that has been emerging is the puff sleeve.. I’m a lover of  dramatic clothing, and I have been incorporating puff sleeves into my wardrobe for awhile. Be sure to click here for my blog about my red dress with puff sleeves.

The Power of the Puff Sleeve Dress

Puff sleeves, are nothing new just like everything else in fashion, they’re a cyclical trend. I think nearly everyone can remember the exaggerated 80’s puff sleeves. However, the puff sleeves of today  are way more polished and refined.  This trend has really come full circle and I do not foresee it going away anytime soon. It slowly stated re-emerging in 2018, and by 2019 it’s  proven to have full on staying power. It’s by far one of the easiest ways to be bold and feminine, while still maintaining an  aspect of minimalism.

My black sweater dress from ASOS is the perfect example of minimalistic, but  bold fashion. I’m wearing a knit black sweater dress which is perfect for winter, but by adding the puff sleeves to this simple dress.  You have a completely different look. This is the perfect dress if you want to delve into the puff sleeve trend, but aren’t really sure how to incorporate it  into your wardrobe.  Puff sleeves, are a great way to feel powerful, bold, and ultra-feminine at the same time.

Accessories

I’ve chosen to accessorize my puff sleeve sweater dress with a Houndstooth beret. Houndstooth, is one of my favorite prints to wear during the Fall/Winter season. It’s one of the most quintessential plaid patterns for fall and winter fashion. Whether it’s worn in the form of a dress, skirt, pants, scarf, shoes, or in my case a lovely beret. I especially love this beret, because it adds a hint of chicness to my outfit. I think it’s important to add the right accessories to any outfit. This Houndstooth beret truly adds the  finishing touch to my puff sleeve sweater dress.

Lastly, pairing my thigh high boots with this outfit was a no brainer. Before I had even thought about what look I wanted to post, I knew I wanted to wear my thigh highs. There is just something about wearing a pair of thigh high boots in winter,  that makes me feel so bad ass…lol!  I also feel like they’re a great alternative if the weather is a little colder, but you don’t necessarily feel like wearing tights. I can easily put on my thigh highs and sashay out the door. My mini bag is faux croc embossed and I purchased it from Nordstrom. I just love mini bags, because they’re so fashionable and totally on trend right now.

Well I hope y’all enjoyed this post, and I hope that everyone has a fun, fabulous,  and safe weekend!
